“Flushed down the Blog” # 5

E-mail Print PDF

By Graham Elsey

I see that there is currently a course offering to understand SANS 10252 part 1. This is odd as the said design standard is still undergoing a major rewrite at the SABS by SC 138 G. And once the now DSS 10252 part 1 (as it is at the moment) is published it will come in for amendment, as it was not sent for voting or comment on by the SC 138 G from the Working Group chosen by the SC to work on the rewrite. My advise; don’t waste your money, while admirable, the course is probably premature; if based on the current standard of design or the DSS. If it is based on the DSS, then questions must be asked on confidentiality between members of the Working Group & the members of SC 138 G, of which I am a “P” (voting) member. I’ve yet to see the DSS!
