The truck and trailer manufacturer Serco has built 51 custom-made trucks for the SA Post Office (SAPO), significantly increasing the load capacity of each vehicle.

Minimum safety rules for container yard equipment have jointly been published by the Port Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA), the international insurer TT Club, and International Cargo Handling Co-ordination Association (ICHCA). The publication, Recommended Minimum Safety Features for Container Yard Equipment, identifies features and functional requirements to improve the safety of people, equipment and cargo.
