The HB200V floor drain is Herbish Drainage
Systems’ largest seller. With its one piece
body construction, without unsightly welds
and bacteria catching seams, this floor drain
is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also
make it the most hygenic floor drain on the
market today. The main feature of this drain
is that the water seal remains in place during
routine cleaning of the basket thus avoiding
unpleasant smell entering the room and
minimising malicious dumping of the basket
content down the now exposed outlet pipe.
However, the water seal can be removed in
the case of a blockage down the line
When designing a new drainage layout consider the latest developments in floor drains that are aesthetically pleasing and make installation a breeze

Metal Spinnings (Pty) Ltd has been manufacturing grade-304 stainless steel floor drains for over 20 years and acquired the drainage business from Herman Bischoff six years ago, when he retired.

In the past six years, several shortcomings in the floor drain design have been identified and the in-house design team set out to remodel and improve the tired 40-year-old drain designs.
The fundamental problem of other floor drains manufactured in South Africa is that during routine maintenance and cleaning, the strainer basket must be removed.
This entails the breaking of the water seal, which prevents foul-smelling air from escaping into the ambient air from the sewers, and also allows for the collected solids in the basket to be disposed down the exposed drain pipe.

The main feature of the remodelled floor drain is the permanent water seal which remains in place when the basket is removed during maintenance. It prevents unpleasant odours escaping and ensures sedim

Grease traps separate oil and grease from waste
water before it enters the sewerage network,
where it solidifies and eventually blocks the line.
This not only results in costly pipe replacement
and unblocking charges, but causes the hazardous
overflow of sewerage drains. Herbish’s range of

ent cannot be readily thrown down the outlet pipe, thus reducing the risk of blockages.

In the event of a blockage down stream from the floor drain, the water seal is able to be removed to clear the blockage. After this, the seal is replaced and water is poured in to re-form the water seal. Another feature of the floor drain is that the internal surfaces are smooth and free of ugly welds which make it more hygienic.

In response to the clients’ requests for tamper proof floor drains, Herbish Drainage Systems has developed a drain that prevents unauthorised access to the internal workings which in turn prevents malicious damage to the floor drain, and theft of kitchen items which are regularly stowed down the pipes for downstream retrieval at a more convenient time.

Herbish Drainage Systems also manufacture grade-304 stainless-steel grease traps. From the smallest 300mm under-sink units, to large 10-liter/sec grease recovery units, their aesthetically pleasing finish and good workmanship make the Herbish Drainage System grease traps a winner with customers.

The latest addition to the range is the adjustable floor drain. This range of floor drains, with its massive 60mm adjustment range, allows plumbers to install the floor drain without risk of misaligning levels.

It also allows the drain to rotate 360 degrees to align the top flange with tiled floors. This floor drain comes complete with an integral waterproof flange and a specially designed seal that allows any water seepage within the slab to return through the d
